When black women began doing away with relaxers and embracing their natural hair over ten years ago, I was skeptical.

I was no longer actively working in the beauty industry but I soon caught on and I knew that this would be a great market to tap into had I ever gone back into the salon. I kept an active cosmetology license and I still had a passion for hair and business.

In the summer of 2017 I decided I would pursue a career as a hairstylist again. I had no problem attracting clients right away but my skills and product knowledge were limited. Hair coloring was intriguing, challenging, and intimidating. It excited me!

I worked tirelessly to re-learn the theory and fundamentals of hair color. Coloring textured hair, keeping hair healthy, and most importantly keeping color-treated hair healthy is crucial. The passion for learning and growing has never waned and I cannot believe how far I have come.
